Meet Mr. Foster, Middle School Math Coach
My name is Mr. Foster.
This is my second year at Friendship Academy, my thirteenth year working in the school district & my Nineteenth year working with Youth.
I will be the Middle School Math Coach this year.
I Live, Breathe, & Specialize in Mathematics.
In addition to Education- I'm also an Artist that does Music, Theater, MCing, DJing & Writing.
I look forward to working with our Scholars & molding Our Future "MATHletes".

Meet Ms. Vatina, Middle School Art Teacher
Ms. Vatina is an artist and teacher. She grew up near Chicago and has lived in the Twin Cities since 2014. In spring 2021, she moved back to South Minneapolis after completing her Masters in Fine Arts at Temple University in Philadelphia. In her art practice, she makes sculptures and
videos that use knitting, sewing, and papermaking. She especially loves to teach students to make sculptures out of found materials, learn to work with fabric and yarn, and see how expansive visual art can be. She is very excited to see the artwork middle schoolers make at Friendship and to be part of the FAA community.
